Interpack 2026: The FUJI Alpha 10 Makes Its World Debut

Every three years, Düsseldorf becomes the centre of the packaging world. And interpack 2026 did not disappoint.

The Paramount team was in Hall 5 as part of the FUJI line-up for one of the most significant moments in the brand's recent history; the global world premiere of the all-new Alpha 10. It's the most important step forward in FUJI flow wrapper technology in a generation and we were right there to see it unveiled. Here's our take on the week.

A New Era for FUJI - Introducing the Alpha 10

If the Alpha 8 series established FUJI as the benchmark for horizontal flow wrapping, the Alpha 10 raises that bar again. Every detail of this machine has been considered with both performance and sustainability in mind.

The new Teflon-free Plest EX centre bed surface eliminates PTFE entirely. Servo-controlled Active Direct film tension delivers greater precision and less waste. And with ultrasonic sealing options available, the Alpha 10 is built for the demands of modern packaging lines, reducing energy and material consumption without any compromise on throughput or seal quality.

The UK launch is coming later this year, and we're already excited to bring it to customers here. If you'd like to be first to know more, get in touch with the team.

Sustainability - From Conversation to Demonstration

One theme ran through every machine on the FUJI stand this year: the real-world shift to mono-material, recyclable films. This wasn't theoretical, FUJI were running OPP/EVOH/PP structures live on multiple machines throughout the week, proving that excellent seal integrity no longer requires complex multi-material laminates.

The most striking example was the Vemag meat line. Here, FUJI demonstrated how flow wrapping in mono-material film can directly replace tray seal packaging, cutting plastic use by up to 70% per unit and reducing CO₂ emissions by more than 60% versus traditional tray formats. For food manufacturers under growing pressure to reduce packaging weight, it was a compelling case study in what's already achievable.

12 Machines. 713m². Seven Days.

FUJI's stand was one of the largest at the show and it was busy from the moment the doors opened. Across 12 running machines, visitors could see the full breadth of what the Alpha 10 and Alpha 8 series can do: from food-to-go and confectionery through to pharmaceutical applications and pizza wrapping.

Highlights included a high-speed confectionery line running chocolate bars at 500 packs per minute, a complete robot-fed confectionery line with Herrmann ultrasonic sealing and fully automatic film splicing and a sanitary-design machine demonstrating tool-free removal of key components for cleaning and inspection; a feature that will resonate strongly with food manufacturers where hygiene and downtime are constant considerations.

For the medical and pharmaceutical sector, the Alpha 10 was shown in a tube-wrapping application using recyclable 38µm film; a reminder that the platform's capabilities extend well beyond food.

What the Week Told Us

Beyond the machines themselves, the conversations we had at interpack gave us a clear picture of where the UK market is heading. There is genuine appetite for smarter, more sustainable packaging and the questions we were asked reflected that. How quickly can we move to mono-material films? What does the Alpha 10 mean for our line speeds? When is it available in the UK?

As Chris Gibson, our Sales Director, put it: "interpack 2026 was a landmark show for FUJI and the Alpha 10 lived up to the billing. The conversations we had reinforced just how much appetite there is in the UK market for smarter, more sustainable packaging solutions. We're already excited about the projects that will come from those discussions."

We want to extend our thanks to everyone who came to see us in Düsseldorf. It was a brilliant week and we're looking forward to continuing those conversations closer to home.
