At Paramount, we’re always looking for ways to become more sustainable. We’ve found that by adopting technological advancements and promoting the latest sustainable flow wrapping machinery, we can offer low costs to our clients and lessen the impact on the environment!
In this blog, we’ll look at our current sustainability initiatives:
Future proofing technology
The Fuji horizontal flow wrapping machines we supply are able to process eco-friendly recyclable and compostable films, with no additional parts required. This allows businesses to make a seamless transition to using sustainable packaging and cope with future demands.
Fuji machines use the latest technology and have unrivalled low ownership costs, requiring minimal maintenance.
Promoting sustainable packaging
We’ve been helping multiple customers convert their packaging to either recyclable, biodegradable or compostable materials. It’s made easy with the handling capabilities of Fuji horizontal flow wrapping machines.
Sustainable packaging enhances a product’s appearance and is a key selling point for eco-conscious customers.
Cutting PVC from the supply chain
An example of our commitment to sustainability is our work with a major UK supermarket. In the first year alone, we have cut 97 tonnes of PVC from the supply chain. We removed all the PVC used on existing overwrap machines from one line within the packhouse and with additional Fuji lines to be installed, this figure could be tripled or more going forwards.
Reduce food waste
Fuji’s high quality packaging machines help to achieve longer pack life therefore keeping the product fresher for longer and helping to reduce food waste.
Fuji machines are built using renewable energy
In addition, the new state-of-the-art Fuji factory (Nagoya, Japan) uses clean energy to aid global environmental conservation.
Promote ecological activities
Our Fuji partners promote ecological activities to all their staff, as do we! This has encouraged some great initiatives to help protect the environment.
Reducing our carbon footprint
We continue to reduce our company’s carbon footprint, by ensuring all new company vehicles are hybrid or electric!
