The show, which ran over the course of 3 days, was an opportunity for us to showcase the fastest box motion machine on the market, the Alpha 8, as well as run demonstrations, meet new customers and explore the industry’s latest innovations and inventions. Also joining us on the stand for the first time was Adaptapack and their Adaptapack Case Packer.
The Alpha 8 was a huge hit with visitors. The machine, which has the ability to produce up-to 400 hermetically-sealed packs per minute, has evolved to incorporate a stronger, simpler and more accessible end seal system; which is quieter and more reliable with higher sealing pressure.
The Fuji Vision System (FVS) is further enhanced with “auto-teaching”; which includes automatic detection of film registration, allowing for easier setup and product change, and the detection of correct print for the product, thus avoiding the incorrect film.
The high-specification machine is complemented by a new interface, with a larger screen (now 15.6”); which is customisable to allow for immediate access to the main and most commonly used functions. A 500mm shorter film path and film rollers made of stainless steel, for increased hygiene, are other notable developments.
Following the introduction of this new technology and optimised processes, Fuji has attained a 20% energy saving, a reduction in setup and changeover times and a further reduction in film waste.
Paramount Packaging Systems’ Sales Director, Aaron Bessell, commented; “We were delighted to attend the PPMA Show last month to reveal the new Alpha 8 to our UK & Irish customers. We saw a fourfold increase in the number customers to the stand and there have been a record number of enquiries following the launch.”
